About this book

You earned two checks: military retired pay and VA disability compensation. Then your Retiree Account Statement showed a line called VA waiver, and your retired pay dropped by an amount equal to your VA compensation. That is the offset, the default rule. Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay (CRDP) and Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) are the two legal exceptions to it. This guide explains the offset, who each program covers, how to read your statement line by line, how to build a CRSC package for your service branch on DD Form 2860, and how to compare the two programs after taxes when you qualify for both.

Inside this book
