About this book

The Justice-Involved Veteran's Guide to Protecting Your VA Benefits Through Incarceration, Treatment Court, and Reentry

You are holding this book because something in your life collided with the law, or you love someone whose life did, and now there are questions about the VA benefits sitting in the middle of it. Will the check stop. Will it stop forever. Can the family still eat. Does a conviction erase what was earned in uniform. Is there anyone inside this system who is actually on your side.

This book lays out the written rules in plain language: what an arrest does and does not change, what felony incarceration does to compensation, why pension is stricter, how apportionment can route the withheld money to your spouse and children, and the steps that restore benefits after release.
