About this book

The VA built a program for family caregivers, with a monthly stipend, health coverage, training, and respite. Many caregivers never hear about it, or hear about it and bounce off the paperwork.

This is a playbook, not a pamphlet. It moves in order, names the traps, and tells you the truth about what is hard. You'll meet Grace, who cares for her husband Caleb, throughout these pages. Grace, Caleb, and every other caregiver and veteran in the book are composites, built to show you the moves. The mechanics were current as of this writing.
