About this book
You earned two benefits, not one. You earned a VA disability rating with your body and your service. You earned Social Security Disability Insurance with every paycheck you paid into the system. Many veterans collect the first and never claim the second. They think the two cancel out. They do not.
VA disability compensation and SSDI are separate federal programs, run by separate agencies under separate rules. Social Security does not count your VA check as income for SSDI. This book shows you whether you may qualify for a second check, how Social Security decides, and what to do this week to find out where you stand. No law degree required. Every term is defined the first time it shows up.
