The VA rates hundreds of conditions under 38 CFR Part 4 — Schedule for Rating Disabilities. This tool covers the most common conditions, but if yours is not listed, you can look it up directly in the Code of Federal Regulations.

Go to the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations (eCFR) and navigate to:

Title 38 → Chapter I → Part 4 → Subpart B (Rating Schedule)

Each body system has its own section. Find your body system, then look for the diagnostic code that matches your condition. If no exact match exists, the VA may rate your condition “by analogy” under the closest matching code.
